This is a fairly rapid drawing of the centerpiece I made yesterday for our Christmas dinnertable. In a large silver bowl, I placed a block of florist's oasis, and attached a head of radicchio di Treviso (an astounding vegetable), three artichokes, two zucchini and lots of branches of rosemary. It was magnificent at first. I kept it cool on the terrace until I set the table. During the course of the dinner the radicchio began to wilt. Overnight, I soaked it in water and it kind of revived enough to regain tensegrity (owlfish taught me that word) to look decent enough to draw today.
