local trains

You might be thinking that these are the same drawing posted twice, but in fact I made them on separate recent train trips to Montegrotte Terme and to Padova. I have similar ones from lots of other trips, but two are enough. Veneto regional trains don't have too much variation.

On the blog are earlier posts of drawings that I made on train trips to Verona and to Saint Petersburg (Russia), and then there are some of my airplane drawings too. When I was a student at the High School of Music and Art in New York, we had homework assignments to draw on the subway, so drawing on trains comes pretty naturally to me.

Those are neat! (The trains seem much nicer than Amtrak.) May I ask what the little circles in a grid-type thing are? If they're wine bottles on a rack, the Veneto regional trains are definitely a far cry from Amtrak! ;-)

How is the engraving going? I can't wait to see the finished result! The peacock drawing they chose is going to look just wonderful.

I love your thought that the circles are wine bottles on a rack. This is a commuter train! The circular designs at the ends of the cars are a retro-Op Art sort of pattern. Thanks for asking about progress on my engraving. I've posted a couple of photos.

Hee, looks like I was way off with the wine rack idea. ;-)
