Drawn by candlelight
The whole neighborhood lost power Saturday night from 7 pm to 4 am during a monster ice and snow storm. Even with lots of lit candles around the house, it was too dark to read or sort papers, so I sat down at the dining table to draw. It was a lovely experience, and I realized that until the 20th century, firelight was all artists had to draw by after the sun went down. I looked at the drawing in the morning and was pleased. I think I may do more drawing by candlelight in the future.
