We awoke to rain and a high tide. It was a strange tide today, with two peaks in the morning. I don't know what that has to do with the moon. But we definitely needed boots to get out the front door. The rest of the calle and Campo San Giacomo are a bit higher, so it was a bit of a surprise to go into San Giacomo de l'Orio and find the rear of the church flooded, with pumps churning out water into the campo. No problem to sit and draw though. I drew there last winter and again last month and today. It is one of the more ancient-seeming churches in Venice, with a marvelous tetto a carena (ship's keel roof). I have posted today's drawing as well as the one I did last month.
