San Giovanni Elemosinario

I pass this church near the Rialto almost daily but the entrance is hidden behind the stalls of teeshirt and tablecloth sellers. Today I went to the Rialto market to shop for fruit and vegetables and also with the purpose of coming in here to draw. San Giovanni Elemosinario is a fairly small 16th century church. It has a nice structure though, and many interesting paintings.
One thing I don't remember ever seeing before for sale at the food vendors is blooming artichoke. I guess one would use it in a bowl of water. They have blue flowers.
