Printperson divina
A year ago today, I started Printperson's Journal. My intention was to post drawings as a way to encourage myself draw daily. Since December 3, 2006, I have posted about 130 drawings. That is far fewer than one a day, but all things considered, it's not an insignificant number. The drawings I posted were ones I considered decent enough to share with family, friends, and strangers.

To celebrate the one year anniversary of my journal, this afternoon and evening (separated by an appointment and a lecture) I made yet another view of my kitchen. The engraving on the wall is one of Hendrik Hondius' engravings after Vredeman de Vries book of perspective studies, dated ca. 1607.

And now THIS is my new favorite. The best part is the ceiling--what an amazing job you did!

Do you think that at some point the work you post here will be published?

Thanks very much for writing about me in your journal. I would love to publish some of my notebooks but so far no one has done that, although individual drawings have been reproduced. Sometimes, when I have an exhibition of my engravings, I will show a notebook that contains a related drawing. A retrospective of my work is being planned by a university museum, but I assume that will focus on prints. My online journal is a way of getting these drawings out into the world, albeit, somewhat anonymously.

I am also here via owlfish. This drawing reminds me of the love and detail in the work of Mary Ellen Best. It's so warm and welcoming.

I was unfamiliar with the work of Mary Ellen Best, but after I received your comment I looked her up. Thanks very much for your comparison. I am glad to know about her. Here is a link to an article on Marey Ellen Best. Sorry I didn't see her work the various times I've been to York.
