I seem to to draw flowers to fill in the gap between drawing adventures out in the world. But recently, we haven't had that many flowers. When I got back to Venice at the beginning of June, our planters were full of geraniums that had recently bloomed in profusion but were basically finished. For most of June, we had a lot of green leaves while everyone else's geranium planters were loaded with flowers. I groomed and fertilized, and now our plants are starting to bloom again. I drew these last evening before we ate an early supper so that we could go afterwards to the home of friends to watch Italy-Spain play in the quarter finals of the European soccer championship. The flowers that were partially open last night are fully open this morning.
