I flew from Venice to JFK the other day. This time I remembered to empty the ink from my fountain pen (change in air pressure makes fountain pens leak) before I left home. I made these drawings with ballpoint pen, a less attractinve line. The first double-page spread I have posted contain several different drawings. The left-hand page includes the pattern of the seat covering, the seat and passenger ahead of me, and a view out the window over the wing while waiting for takeoff. I drew the upper-right drawing as we were accelerating down the runway. The second spread is views of islands of the northern lagoon from the air. I had to look and draw pretty fast.
Now I am settling back into my non-Venice life, so it may be a day or two before I begin drawing again.
