My helium balloon dog (I've named her Madonna, after the festa at which she was acquired) has not gone out on her boat ride. It's too cold...in fact, it was snowing this morning. But she is floating in the kitchen, tethered to a drawer handle. The notes in the upper left corner refer to an installation by Jeroen Kramer, a Dutch photographer, that I liked at the Venice Biennale of Architecture. He designed a black line camouflage pattern based on cities, calling it urban mimetics, and it really appealed to my love of line drawing. Yesterday was the last day. We spent about five hours going through the Giardini and the Arsenale, and it really wasn't enough time.
