A new coffee shop has opened up next to the church of the Frari in the space where the Fila sportwear shop used to be located. I have gone to have coffee at this new shop four times now. The coffee is good, the baristas make the foam look really pretty, the tables are free, and they often have international newspapers. Last week on a rainy day, I introduced geesepalace
to the place. On one side of the window people rushed past the long exterior wall of the Frari's nave in the windy rain. On the other side of the window, we enjoyed the warmth of the coffee shop, bright yellow paint, glass and chrome, the hiss of steam, and friendly chatter. Today, a week later, I went back and finished the drawing with watercolor.
