I find it interesting that since you have returned from Venice, all your sketches are quite inward-looking-- close ups of domestic items. I love the sketch of the fireplace. It's also fun to see objects that I grew up with.

Those are both very nice. May I ask long did they took (if you recall)?

The shapes of the metal work in the fireplace drawing remind me a bit of the iron snakes of a few weeks back.

Thanks for your comment. I probably spent no more than half an hour on each of those drawings. I love those brass andirons with their extravagant, foliate flames.

yes, he has a good eye! I had not noticed that myself. Was it intentional that you made a drawing of a kitchen object from Iowa and one from Italy or is it just a cute coincidence?
