I've been preparing a publication for a print exhibition that I curated, and that opens next week, so I haven't drawn at all during the past two weeks. I hate not posting regularly on the journal. But since I recently scanned some older drawings, I've decided to post something from the past. A number of years ago, (in 1997 to be exact) I was granted permission to spend two months drawing up on the matronei (once upon a time they were the women's galleries) of San Marco. It was a remarkable experience for me to be able to spend two hours a day up there and have views of the church that very few people see. I have plenty more drawings of this series, but need to make more scans.
