Yesterday afternoon, after seeing off the Owlfishes back to London, I went to San Rocco to draw before coming home to cook dinner. I enjoy San Rocco as a place to draw, for I keep seeing new things to admire, in this case, the window with the circular insert and radiating leading.
Dinner was pasta e fasoi con radicchio rosso to welcome three guests newly arrived from the US. After dinner, the acqua alta sirens sounded. We walked through a tremendous rain- and windstorm and considerable high water (110 cm) to piazza San Marco so that our friends could see the piazza covered with water. There was so much wind that the piazza was like the sea, with waves.
