Shells at the Lido

Recently, I have been working in the libraries and writing at home, trying to finish my article for the Bellini book. But I promised myself a day at the beach, so joined Lidia and family on Tuesday at their capanna at the spiaggia della marina militare (the Italian Navy's private beach towards the San Nicolo end of the Lido). It was way cooler than in the city, and the water was so warm there wasn't even a moment's hesitation plunging in. Mostly, I floated in the sea. I collected a few shells to draw.
